Course Description
Today’s software becomes more and more complex. Performing only manual testing for your project in most of the cases is not enough or is too much time consuming. Whether you are just thinking of automation testing, are right in the middle of it, or have already given up, this course is for you. It will help you to learn the need of automation testing, how to start with it and how to integrate it in your project. The course will give you real practical experience with the most popular non-commercial tool for automation testing available on the market today – Selenium.
What will you learn?
The course objective is to learn QAs on foundation principles behind automation testing. The participants will learn how to create automated test scripts using capture replay tool (Selenium) and coded one (using WebDriver). Additionally they will learn different levels on which automation may be achieved.
Who is this course for?
This course has been designed for anyone involved in software testing, eager to learn on performing automation testing. This may includes people in roles such as testers, quality assurance engineers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, software developers in test, automation developers.
Prerequisites:
Most of the technical concepts will be explained in the course. Some basic programming knowledge will be required in order to gain the full advantages of this course.
A QA functional testing course or equivalent skills are required. A ISTQB Foundation certificate is required in order to certify as Automation test Engineer. Tools, that will be needed: Selenium IDE (free tool), WebDriver (free tool), VisualStudio Code, NPM, Node.js, Jenkins.

Dimo Mitev
Dimo Mitev is a QA engineer with more than 11 years of experience in the field.
He started his career as a QA trainer in academy of a big telecommunication company. He led lectures like: „Academy Introduction“, „Fundamentals of Testing“, „Fundamental Test Process“, „Incident Management“, „Test Techniques“, „Automated Testing“, „Performance Testing“, „Web Service Testing“.
Since 2014 till now he has been working as QA Architect/Team lead. His everyday assignments are:- Leading a team of QAs;
- Establish the automation strategy;
- Selects and leads the adoption of automation frameworks;
- Take responsibility for ensuring the code quality of the automation tasks (i.e. core review, code analysis, etc.)
- Manual and automated testing of REST Based services;
- Performance and Security testing;
- Bugs logging and verification;
- Manual and automated testing of Web-based portal.
